Department of Dental Services

The Department of Dental Services, affiliated with Iğdır University School of Health Services, was established in 2018 and started its education and training activities in the same year. This department aims to train qualified health technicians in the field of dental health and has an educational infrastructure that adapts to technological developments in the field. There are two main programs within the department:

1. Oral and Dental Health Program: This program focuses on training health technicians who are experts in the field of oral and dental health. During the program, students are provided with theoretical and practical information on basic topics such as oral and dental health services, supporting doctors during the treatment process of patients, and dental health screenings. Students also take practical courses such as sterilization, hygiene rules, and maintenance and management of equipment used in dental clinics, thus graduating well-equipped in the health sector.
2. Dental Prosthesis Technology Program: In this program, technical information and practices related to the preparation, maintenance and repair of dental prostheses are taught. Students gain detailed information about how dental prostheses are designed, the materials and devices used in the production process. They also gain the ability to use current technologies such as digital dental prosthesis design and three-dimensional modeling, and are ready to work in dental prosthesis laboratories when they graduate.

The Department of Dental Services offers quality education to students with its specialized academic staff and laboratories supported by up-to-date equipment, and provides competent personnel for the health sector in the region. The programs are supported by internship opportunities and practical courses aimed at developing the professional competencies of graduates.
